Ed Garnett is the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for ANC5E01 for the term 2017-2018.
Born and raised in New York, Ed has lived in Edgewood since 2015 and in the District of Columbia since 2007.
Ed is passionate about improving the Edgewood and Brookland neighborhoods for all residents. As your advocate, he will support policies that encourage smart, responsible growth while making ANC5E01 a lively, livable neighborhood for everyone.
Growing up in a family that valued service to others, Ed has dedicated his live to public service. With experience as a civilian federal employee and as a supply officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, Ed brings an ability to work with people with a variety of backgrounds and life experiences.
Ed became interested in local government after moving to the District of Columbia and witnessing firsthand the important changes that local governments can make in people's lives. While the influence of the ANC is limited to specific issues, he feels that he can make the neighborhood better for all of our families.
